The ”Climate Rescue Station” was built to show the youth’s committed intent to protect the climate and to exist as a learning center model for youth. The model aims to raise youth’s awareness on climate change, to give them the ability to link causes and impacts of climate change and the ability to systematically convey the issue. The youth gained direct experience by practicing and learning how to live life in harmony with nature. This helps change attitudes and behaviors to be friendly to the environment.
Some part of our region is reeling under the worst impacts of extreme weather events, typhoons, floods, forest fires, droughts. Climate change will render large parts of our region unfit for agriculture while scarcity of freshwater water for drinking and irrigation is likely to affect millions of our people in coming decades. Therefore, we, the Solar Generation youth pledge that we will cooperate and take serious actions in campaigning to provide knowledge and understanding on climate change and to promote the usage of renewable energies to mitigate climate change.

Representatives from 5 schools; Rachawinit Bangkaew, Rattanatibate, Sampran Wittaya, Arunwittaya and Phuket Girls School made a joint statement proclaiming that “As youth of Southeast Asia which is the most venerable and least prepared region to face the ravages of climate change, we call on the world’s leaders to agree on the climate deal that will ‘change’ the shape of humanity at the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen in December 2009. You can also call on a world leader by signing this petition.
