Greenpeace believes you have a fundamental right to privacy on the web, and we work to protect your security online.

This policy applies to all the pages hosted by Greenpeace International (Stichting Greenpeace Council) on greenpeace.org and the offline data processing of Greenpeace International. It does not apply to pages hosted by other organisations or to Greenpeace national offices to which Greenpeace International may link and whose privacy policies may differ. Greenpeace International processes personal data, including data of the visitors of the website. Personal data will be processed for the purpose of providing information about the activities of the Greenpeace organisation, fulfilling contractual obligations and collection of donations. More in general Greenpeace International will use personal data to inform you on new developments, activities or to participate in an online petition or messages.

Please note: If you provide Greenpeace International with information as part of an online petition or message to a government, corporation, organisation, or individual, that information may be transmitted by Greenpeace International to the recipient of the appeal, and you may receive an email response directly from the recipient.

Greenpeace International does not sell or rent web-generated mailing lists or other personally identifiable information outside the Greenpeace organisation. Greenpeace International shares lists amongst national or regional Greenpeace offices where appropriate to effectively inform and activate specific national audiences or other audience segments, in order to win campaigns and help raise money to fund our activities. Although the fastest and environmental friendly way to inform you is e-mail, your e-mail address will only be used by a national or regional office if you have given your prior consent. Greenpeace International maintains some records of individuals who contact us for further information or for help in case Greenpeace International needs to contact them later or provide further information to them in the future. However, Greenpeace International does not provide this information to anyone else unless you give us your consent. Greenpeace International doesn't use this information for any other purposes.

Our site is hosted on a variety of servers. Our statistics software collects information about the date and time in which our web site was accessed, and may also track a user's movement within the site. While Greenpeace International uses SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, Greenpeace International also protects user-information off-line.
