Dear friends, From the beginning of this presidential election,
Greenpeace has been
urging the candidates to announce their action plan to
protect the forests of Indonesia. So far we have only heard nice
words and empty promises, but no action plan on an issue that is
key to the future of Indonesia and central to the global efforts to
combat climate change. World leaders are going to make an
important decision at the UN climate talks in Copenhagen in
December this year to protect the world's forests. The next
president has a great opportunity and greater responsibility to
secure our future and to stop the suicidal destruction of our
rainforests. This is the last opportunity before we vote, to find
out who will be the President with an action plan to protect our
forests and commit to sustainable development. Act
now to save Indonesian Forest :
