Greenpeace moves to decontaminate Bt eggplant field trial site in the Philippines

Members of a decontamination unit from environmental activist group Greenpeace carefully bag genetically-engineered Bt talong (eggplant) from an experimental field trial site in Bay town in the province of Laguna, in an effort to contain contaminants, February 17, 2011.Greenpeace is asking the Dept. of Agriculture to halt and decontaminate all field trials, ban all GE food crops and properly implement the Organic Agriculture Act by directing time and resources to ecological agriculture practices.
