Climate Walk: A People's Walk for Climate Justice

The "Climate Walk: A People's Walk for Climate Justice" kicks off today at the historic Kilometer Zero in Rizal Park, Manila, organized by the climate advocates from Philippine Climate Change Commission, Greenpeace SEA-Philippines, National Youth Commission, Philippine Rural and Reconstruction Movement, Philippine Movement for Climate Justice, Aksyon Klima, Sanlakas, Dakila and other civic groups.

Climate Walk is a 40-day, 875 KM journey from Manila to ground zero in Tacloban City by the 8th of November, to commemorate the first anniversary of super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), a historic landfall in the Philippines. The organizers hope to raise awareness on climate change and mobilize people in demanding world leaders to take climate action and hold industry polluters and their respective governments accountable for their contribution to the climate crisis.
