Coal monsters take over the Department of Energy

A group of coal monsters stage a takeover on June 25, 2012 at the Department of Energy in Taguig City, renaming the agency the "Department of Coal Energy" and named Sec. Rene Almendras as "Sec. Rene COALmendras." The "coal monsters" are activists of Greenpeace, demanding Sec. Almendras to reverse his decision on the 11 coal-fired power plant projects he approved since 2010 and instead implement Renewable Energy law in order to provide a safe, secure and independent energy future for the country.
