Children look at purple-colored suds along Tullahan River in Caloocan, Metro Manila. Tullahan is one of Metro Manila’s dirtiest rivers. Residents along Tullahan river have noted that multi-colored sudsy effluents have left violet-colored residue in the river water, rocks and banks. Several industries, such as paper, pen and dye factories, are located upstream from the site in this photo. Greenpeace is campaigning for the government to implement effective policies that will curb and eliminate water pollution, starting with a "right to know" policy that will make it mandatory for factories to report the chemical effluents that they discharge into water bodies.
