Coal Action at Fisheries Ministry in Indonesia

Greenpeace activists conduct a theatrical action in front of the Ministry of Marine Affair and Fisheries office in Jakarta. Activists carry a giant replica of sinking boat along with the fisherman and farmers who suffered from livelihoods destruction caused by the coal power plant to be built in their fishing grounds and productive agricultural lands. Greenpeace is urging the Minister to not convert the Ujungnegoro-Roban Regional Marine Conservation Area in Batang, Central Java, into a pollution targeted area of the planned giant coal power plant project, but instead asks the Minister to use his authority to save the lives of thousands of fishermen who depend their livelihoods on this conservation area.
