SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Expertise online content design and development
a. Build a growing bank of applied knowledge in online content and design that is relevant to GPSEA supporters, potential supporters and external stakeholders
b. Advise GPSEA on current and leading thinking around online content design and development strategies to inform campaign and project work.
c. Monitor, identify and report on trends, movements and other relevant issues in the online space in terms of content design and development.
d. Optimise GPSEA’s online presence in search engines, social network platforms and other online spaces.
2. Design, develop and write content.
a. Optimise the content of GPSEAs website to encourage and grow unique and repeat visits with bias towards encouraging action taking, sharing of content and donating; this can include sourcing and or producing written content, digital still images, audio and visual content, digital animation.
b. Provide effective rapid response to unplanned situations through having an influential online presence via social network platforms, GPSEA website, blogs and other relevant online spaces.
c. Review and edit campaign and communications materials with a bias towards encouraging action, donation and sharing of content by supporters for our email programs in campaigns/projects
d. Advise GPSEA of public interest issues which may be able to capitalised on through our online presence to strengthen and grow our supporter base as well as our influence in public discourse.
3. Integration of programs
a. DATA: Develop standardised methodology for data capture across website and email programs.
b. OFFLINE: Integrate, where appropriate, grassroots organising strategies with online organising and social networking strategies for the purposes of external impact and internal strength building for GPSEA
c. MOBILE: Write, design, produce and optimise content website and email content for use on mobile platforms
d. CAMPAIGNS: Collaborate with Campaigns Unit on the development of supporter focused content in the delivery of their campaignse.
e. COMMUNICATIONS: ensuring GPSEA online content synergy with our brand protocols, campaign messaging and other public communications.
f. FUNDRAISING: Integrate fundraising opportunities within online organising and other online mass mobilisation.
4. Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
a. Contribute to GPSEA mass mobilisation planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation and regularly update relevant senior staff.
b. Contributing to campaign and project team from the perspective of supporter engagement and campaign impact through online activity.
c. Build a culture of Praxis (theory – action – Reflection) across GPSEA and produce evaluations of activities on a regular basis.
d. Assist the Mass Mobilisation Mangers on in Country planning days and mentor Mass Mobilisation Training and Strategy Coordinators in planning, implementation and evaluation.
5. Project Management
a. Lead and implement projects, including representation of GPSEA at local, national or international where assigned by Senior Management Team or Mass Mobilization
ManagerSelection Criteria (Essential)
- Bachelors degree involving digital marketing, social marketing, communications, journalism and / or minimum 2 years relevant equivalent industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in writing and visual communication for a diverse range of audiences, including producing cohesive multimedia content packages including written, audio, visual, digital animation and data visualisation content.
- Demonstrated skills in social marking communication strategy development, implementation and evaluation
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment across multiple time zones
- A commitment to direct action and the synergy between social justice and environmentalism
- A willingness and ability to travel internationally and a flexible approach to work
Selection Criteria (Desirable)
- Please list your preferred language(s) and any other languages you can read and write in and the level of proficiency of each.
- Desktop Publishing Skills
- Digital Animation skills
- Ability to work across Windows and Mac operating systems
