Online Organizing Fellow

Spend six months taking on some of the planet’s biggest challenges and working in the world’s best-known environmental activist organization!

Summary Description:
As a Greenpeace Online Organizing Fellow you will gain hands-on experience with online organizing, building the grassroots movement and helping to win our campaigns. Through your fellowship, you will build expertise, help promote our campaigns, activate and communicate with thousands of Greenpeace supporters, and be exposed to exciting new online organizing tools and techniques.  Fellows will use online tools like email, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Flickr, and blogs to recruit volunteers and promote priority Greenpeace campaigns. Fellows will also conduct research, contribute to action toolkits and other materials, educate, recruit and train volunteers around the country, help with online outreach and participate in organizing local grassroots support to win national victories.

Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Familiarity with blogs, online social networks such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and other social media tools
- Strong online research skills
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Intellectual curiosity and creativity
- Competency with excel and web databases
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- A sense of adventure
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Independent and self-motivated
- Commitment to protecting the planet
- Must have a laptop computer
