The North American Boreal forest is one of the largest intact ancient forests. In addition to being an important area for First Nations and indigenous communities, the Boreal forest is also home to caribou, lynx, songbirds and wolves. As one of the largest storehouses of carbon on the planet, it is essential in the fight against global warming.
