We all know that fossil fuels contribute to pollution and global warming. Now that we have clean alternatives like wind power, it's time to flip the switch!

Wind power does not pollute, it is domestically produced and it is renewable. It is the fastest growing source of energy in the world, and its prices are competitive with the cost of electricity from new coal-fired power plants.

With additional investment in research and development, the cost of wind power could drop even more to as little as 2.5 cents a kilowatt-hour within the next few years. In fact, wind could supply more than three times the total amount of electricity currently produced in the United States.

We are working with environmental groups around the country to win America’s first offshore wind farm. The only question now is, which one will be built first – Cape Cod or Long Island?

We hope you will join us in supporting these projects – say “Yes to Wind!”

Wind for Cape Cod

This offshore wind project, called Cape Wind, is located in Nantucket Sound and will provide 75% of Cape Cod’s energy needs with clean and safe wind power. Imagine clean power reducing the need for the Cape’s current oil and gas burning power plant, which caused a major oil spill in Buzzard’s Bay in 2003, dumping 100,000 gallons of oil into the bay.

Wind for Long Island

This project will provide power for about 44,000 homes with clean, renewable wind. New York City and Long Island have always been at the cutting edge of style, now they’re leading America’s clean energy revolution as well.

Not your Typical Day at the Beach

Our Clean Energy Now! team spent Labor Day weekend on "Global Warming Beach Patrol" in Cape Cod. The squad spoke with residents and tourists alike, touting the benefits of the proposed offshore wind farm in Nantucket Sound. The beach goers were as receptive to the message as they were to the brochures, t-shirts, buttons and frisbees the team distributed.

Kennedy Misses the Boat when it comes to Clean Energy

For years environmentalists have had a love affair with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. He has managed to give lawyers a good name by fighting (and winning!) regional pollution battles as a senior attorney with our friends at the Natural Resources Defense Council. But environmental advocates everywhere are having a very heated tiff with our longtime partner, and for good reason.
