America's climate future will be determined by the choices made and the actions taken in 2009. Fortunately, many US politicians now recognize the need to address global warming. We must take advantage of this political opportunity while it lasts.

Help us press the Obama Administration and Congress to do
what's necessary to stop global warming.
The Obama Administration and Congress must:
- Enact science-based legislation that will cut global warming
pollution to levels consistent with what the UN Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change says is needed to prevent the worst effects
of global warming: 25-40% reductions from 1990 levels by 2020 and
at least 80% by 2050.
- Invest $150 billion, including at least $50 billion in 2009, in
new government funding for renewable energy solutions to jumpstart
the clean energy revolution.
- Eliminate subsidies for dirty energy sources like coal and
nuclear power, which are dirty and dangerous distractions from the
true solutions to global warming and already receive massive
government handouts.
