Independent scientific researchers check out the CTD Unit (conductivity, temperature & depth) prior to it being lowered over the side of the Greenpeace ship, MY Arctic Sunrise, in the deep waters in the Gulf of Mexico, Sept. 24, 2010. Independent scientists start their third set of tests at a depth of 1300 meters near the site of the Deepwater Horizon disaster which can be seen in the background, Development Driller platforms II and III owned by Transocean.
