Record Coal Pileups

The weak demand from coal consumption sectors means that coal is piling up, unused, at record levels at domestic power plants and ports in China. The coal pileup in the major port of Qinhuangdao (Hebei province, China) reached a record 9.46 million tons in June 2012.
