Wind Power Growth

China has set up an ambitious non-fossil fuel target of 30% of electricity generation by the end of 2015, including major investments in wind power. China passed the U.S. in 2010 to become the world's number one market for wind power, and had approximately 62GW capacity installation by end of 2011. According to China’s 12th Five-Year Plan, the country aims to increase wind capacity to 100GW by end of 2015. The growing renewable energy revolution in China is on pace to undercut the aggressive Chinese coal demand projections upon which U.S. export hopefuls are counting.
