View Map of Radiation Measurements by Greenpeace team in a larger map
Our team of radiation specialists in Japan brought back their findings for the day.
“It is clearly not safe for people to remain in Iitate, especially children and pregnant women, when it could mean receiving the maximum allowed annual dose of radiation in only a few days. When further contamination from possible ingestion or inhalation of radioactive particles is factored in, the risks are even higher.”
Take action right now and tell the President that taxpayers should not take on the risk of building new nuclear plants.

Why not state the obvious logistics problem ? Japan can't handle the 500,000 refugees they have now. So the millions in the 80 kilometer zone will be left to their fate. It's called triage.

shame, shame on Japan governmtnt...it's clear for me now that nuclear stations have not to be handled by private companies, they would save money and do not spend enought if there are no problems happen. I'm from Ukraine, and no wonder that currently there is no proper information stating what 's is going on in reality..thigs are worthy and hard to imagine how poor Japan people struggle with it. It's even worthy than a war.CNN and BBC focusised on Libia...where is real on site journalists in Japan???? they 've been there since first blows were , then they gone. Why? The radiation level is in proper levels.Yes? So, why none there ?

Not being able to handle the current number of refugees is a problem. I fail to see how lying and deception will help to solve it. If you happened to live within the 80km evacuation zone would you rather know the truth, or sleep soundly as “triage?”

You have the wrong nuclear plant marked on Google maps, you have chosen the Daini facillity, but it is the Daichi plant who is radiating.

Firstly I would like to thank Greenpeace for their work. The Japan crisis has made me understand that nuclear is extremely dangerous. It is dangerous as it is invisible, has capability to cause genetic mutation even with minute amount that is below the so call safe limit. It so sad that nuclear experts out there continue to believe that nuclear is safe and proceed to explain to the public that it is safe. Please make good use of this opportunity to explain and educate reporters that the myth that as long intake of radiation is within the safe limit, it is alright. It is ironic as people goes about trying to improve their health by consuming health product and yet many believe that the radiation reaching would be so diluted and would not have any significant health impact. I dread at the thought of the radiation contamination already happening to the sea, plants, animals, air, cloud, etc, sea. In one way or another, these substance is likely to go inside me someday.
