Vermonters have spoken!

J. Wayne Leonard

Chief Executive Officer

Entergy Corporation

639 Loyola Avenue

New Orleans, LA 70113

Dear Mr. Leonard, Entergy board members & shareholders:

The Vermont Senate voted on February 24, 2010 to deny a certificate of public good for Vermont Yankee to operate past its scheduled retirement date of March 21, 2012.

We urge you to respect the decision of the people of Vermont. Vermonters no longer trust Entergy. Your corporation has repeatedly placed its profits ahead of the public health and safety. Vermont Yankee has experienced a string of mishaps under Entergy's ownership and has leaked radioactive wastes into our soil and groundwater. Entergy's officials have been accused of lying under oath and have continued to misinform the public with a PR spin campaign and advertisements to overturn the vote.

We request that you stop these efforts immediately. Vermonters have spoken! They no longer want to live in the shadow of a nearly 40-year-old Entergy-owned nuclear reactor with its long history of mismanagement. Vermont Yankee must close in 2012.

Sincerely,

Greenpeace & the People of Vermont
