When I first became interested in environmental activism, I
turned to Greenpeace to learn how to get involved.I think that
Greenpeace is one of the very few nonprofit organizations that is
able to put forth powerful efforts that make the public aware of
environmental problems, while sticking to its mission of peace.
At first, I was happy to just be on the newsletter list. I felt
good about staying informed and made sure to take part in all the
online actions alerts I received. But now, I utilize all the tools
at my disposable.
I opened a Greenpeace account and have even participated in some
of the online discussions. And I've told some of my progressive
friends about their campaigns.
I feel like Greenpeace gives me a voice on global warming in a
world that would otherwise have little chance of hearing me.
Desire and devotion to the preservation of the environment through
activism is a never ending fight, and I am proud to be part of
it.
