Toxics
No new posts Green my Apple
Here at Greenpeace, we love our Macs. And that's why we want them to be free of toxic chemicals that create poison e-waste. We've seen the kids in Asia who wade through mountains of discarded gadgets to recover bits of metal they can sell. In the process, they breathe dioxins from burning PVC plastic and are surrounded by lead and mercury pollution. That's not what Apple is all about. And we know just the people to make Apple change its ways: its customers. Love your Mac? Wish it came in green? Let Apple know how much you want them to be green. Watch Greenpeace's version of the Apple ad

No new posts Japanese Whalers
Nearly 20 years after commercial whaling was banned, many whale species still hover on the brink of extinction. But that hasn't stopped Japan from slaughtering hundreds of whales every year in the name of "science."

No new posts Iceland Resumes Whaling
In Iceland, the whale watching industry contributes more to the national economy than commercial whaling did before it was put on hold in the '80s. Yet now after 17 years, Iceland has officially resumed commercial whaling. Would you seriously consider taking a vacation in Iceland rather than somewhere else if the Government of Iceland stopped whaling?

No new posts What's your mandate?
EPA Administrator Mike Leavitt called the presidential election "a validation of the philosophy and the agenda" of the Bush administration when it comes to the environment.

The hundreds of e-mails and phone calls we received from our supporters since the election seems to suggest otherwise.

What's your environmental mandate for President Bush?
