As the person charged with the duty of chronicling the ups and downs of the life of Princess Mia Thermopolis, it is with great pleasure that I announce her decision to donate the author proceeds from her first novel, Ransom My Heart, to Greenpeace.

Those familiar with the journals of the Princess of Genovia (published as The Princess Diaries, Volumes I-X) will be aware of the fact that Greenpeace has long been Her Royal Highness’s favorite charity. A supporter of animal rights, Mia has always admired Greenpeace’s commitment to the environment and to making this world a safer, cleaner place for everyone living on it.

And though Mia will not, as she once dreamed, be spending her gap year working for Greenpeace manning a rubber dinghy, keeping whales from getting harpooned, income generated from this book will help someone else do so.

So through this book, the heartfelt dreams of a princess will be realized. And isn’t that what books are for? So that readers can vicariously live their own dreams?

Many thanks to Greenpeace and Avon/Morrow/HarperCollins Publishers for so graciously agreeing to help make this princess’s dreams come true….

New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot and her adult fiction publisher, Avon A/an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, are pleased to announce the publication of a new, very grown-up, historical romance by Her Royal Highness, Princess Mia of Genovia. Ransom My Heart is a sweeping, deeply sensual medieval romance that Princess Mia published upon her graduation from High School, as chronicled in the just-released final book of the bestselling Princess Diaries series. Longtime Meg Cabot fans and Princess Mia followers will be delighted by this original work of adult fiction, which Publishers Weekly calls a “delightful historical romance...thoroughly enjoyable and funny.”

Princess Mia and Meg Cabot have announced that all of the author's worldwide proceeds for Ransom My Heart will be donated to Greenpeace. It is printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper and the mill is FSC certified...so Avon A invites you to treat yourself like royalty, and enjoy a sublimely 'green' reading experience!
