Close-up of a grizzly bear walking on marshland.

The Great Bear Rainforest is located on the coast of British Columbia between the northern tip of Vancouver island and the Alaska panhandle. Its name reflects that it is one of the last great grizzly strongholds in the world and also supports a large black bear population, and a rare genetic variation of the black bear - the pure white Kermode or "Spirit" bear.
