It is a date that sparkles with the worst of consumerism, but it can also be used for good: to ask President Uhuru Kenyatta to not sell Africa out to the USA. The American Chemistry Council has lobbied the US government during the Trump administration to use a US-Kenya trade deal to send their plastic waste to Kenya. This group that is lobbying this absurdity has Shell, Exxon, and Total among its members. That is why today, at 18:00, we are going to a Twitter storm, to show to President Kenyatta that Kenya cannot be the USA’s plastic bin. Join us on at 7 pm, and tweet and retweet with Greenpeace Africa about this absurd with the hashtag #DontSellKenya

The Kenyan government should not put at risk its plastic-free ambitions.
