\ud83d\udc8c A letter from Greenpeace Africa’s Fundraising Director.<\/p>\n\n

Hi there,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

As Greenpeace Africa’s Fundraising Director, it\u2019s my job to crunch the numbers and see how much we raised this year. And sadly, it\u2019s not as much<\/strong> as we had hoped for. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n\n

With the cost of living crisis in many countries getting worse, I know people are feeling the squeeze. At Greenpeace Africa, we\u2019re seeing the impact of this crisis too, nearly 1,000 donors <\/strong>have cancelled their donations. And as many economies continue to struggle, donations aren\u2019t going as far as they used to.<\/p>\n\n

I\u2019ve worked out that we urgently need to raise an extra R180,000 (around $10,000) by the end of the year <\/strong>to help plug our funding gaps. Could you help us<\/strong> reach this goal for a greener and healthier planet?<\/p>\n\n

If you are able to set up a regular, rather than a one off, donation that would help us be as ambitious as possible in 2025. Regular donations, no matter how small, allow us to protect our environment, champion frontline communities and really take the fight to big business and polluters next year and beyond.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n

If we don\u2019t meet our targets, this shortfall could impact our work over time. We might even have to scale back some campaigns. That\u2019s the last thing <\/strong>I\u2019d want to see happen.<\/p>\n\n

Donations are the lifeblood of our organisation. We don\u2019t take money from big businesses. We don\u2019t accept government funds. All of our work is powered by people<\/strong> just like you. And that\u2019s hugely important \u2013 because it allows us to stay independent<\/strong>, to make bold decisions in the interest of our communities.<\/p>\n\n

 We have big plans<\/strong> for 2025 \u2013 but we urgently need your help to achieve them. Will you help us plug our funding gap so we can keep campaigning to defend nature<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n
