Trans-Tasman Resources (TTR) has a plan to rip up 50 million tonnes of the South Taranaki seabed every year for over 35 years. This would be the world’s first commercial seabed mine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South Taranaki Bight is a region full of rich, diverse and unique marine life, including endangered M\u0101ui dolphins and rare blue pygmy whales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If allowed to go ahead using a fast-track process, seabed mining would damage this unique ecosystem.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join the chorus of voices opposing seabed mining in the South Taranaki Bight to make sure Manuka and TTR know we don’t want fast-tracked seabed mining. Tell TTR and Manuka to bugger off and leave the Taranaki seabed alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

I stand opposed to your plan of fast-track mining the seabed of the South Taranaki Bight. If it went ahead, it would destroy a precious natural habitat full of rich, diverse and unique marine life.<\/p>\n\n

I pledge to stand against your destructive project and use any peaceful means available to do this. I\u2019ll do whatever I can to work together with local people in Taranaki, with environmental experts, and with tangata whenua.<\/p>\n\n
