David ‘Haussy’ Haussmann is one of the ‘Arctic 30’ detained in Russia and charged with piracy for a peaceful protest against Arctic oil drilling.<\/p>\n

Below is a letter from David to everyone who’s supported him over the past 28 days:<\/p>\n


To publish \u2013 post to everyone who has written to me \/ 13-10-13<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

To my \u2018big whanau\u2019 out there,<\/em><\/p>\n

I can\u2019t put it any more simply than thanks. Some of you I know, some I\u2019ve heard of, some I\u2019ll never even meet.<\/em><\/p>\n

Your kind thoughts, support and humour means a lot to me right now, it is the simple things in life.<\/em><\/p>\n

In the words of an old and trusted work mate and friend, \u201cwhat is this monkey business?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I have no idea, just more questions than answers. The only thing I am sure of is the thing that ties us all together, the want of a \u2018clean, green and peaceful planet\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s impossible to write to you all, it just ain\u2019t happening from here, so that\u2019s it. <\/em><\/p>\n

To those who know Sarah and have heard of Theo, please lend your support to them, they mean so much<\/strong> to me.<\/em><\/p>\n

Definitely time to stand up, speak up and be heard.<\/em><\/p>\n
