Christine grew up on dairy, pig and sheep farms in the Waikato and now lives in rural west Auckland. She has degrees in philosophy and political science (First Class Honours). She was an elected Councillor at rural Rodney District and Auckland Regional Council for fifteen years and served as both Deputy Mayor and Deputy Chair.
