Join Kumi Naidoo and Greenpeace Africa tonight at 19:30 as we launch The Future Of Congo Forests documentary.

The documentary chronicles The Future of Forests in Poetry contest organized by Greenpeace Africa in Democratic Republic of Congo in September and October. The contest was a great triumph and united many Congolese citizens for a good cause.

2600 poems were written by Congolese youths on the future of their forests, sending strong messages to governments, policy makers, and donors about how important it is to safeguard these forests!

Special prizes were awarded to the seven top entrants from both Oshwe and Kinshasa. The highlights of this great event were immortalized in pictures, with beautiful photographs and a video documentary that will be launched at COP 17.

We will have a few partners speak, including Kumi Naidoo - Executive Director of Greenpeace International, show the short documentary and read out the winning poems. There will also been food, drinks, beer and wine.

The launch event is free of charge and we invite everyone to come and enjoy something positive for a change. It's on the beach and all powered by solar electricity!
