On January 27th, the Berne Declaration and Greenpeace will again present the Public Eye Awards to the most irresponsible companies in terms of respect for human rights and the environment.

Voting runs until January 26 at midnight. This year's six nominees are Barclays (Great Britain), Freeport McMoran (United States), Samsung (South Korea), TEPCO (Japan), Vale (Brazil) and the Swiss company Syngenta. They were chosen by a panel of experts from a list of 40 cases submitted by NGOs around the world.

You can find more details about these companies at www.publiceye.ch and can vote here:

2011 saw South African mining company Anglogold Ashanti added to the Public Eye Hall of Shame for its contamination of land and people with its gold mining in Ghana.

It's time to show companies that they can no longer ignore their environmental and social responsibilities with impunity!
