"Shut it Down, Quit Coal" -- Greenpeace activists recently scaled the Bridgeport Harbour Generating Station coal elevator in the United States to demand the ageing and dirty coal-fired power plant be shut down.

In this clip Lauren Thorpe, one of the activists who took part in the action, talks about why she feels so strongly about taking on coal.

Although Lauren speaks specifically about coal in the US, her message is equally relevant here in South Africa, where coal continues to play a starring role in our electricity generation. Just as Lauren says in the video, we don't need coal anymore; we have incredible renewable energy potential and should be focusing on developing these resources.
