In the past the Department of Trade and Industry has been supportive of developing a renewable energy industry in South Africa. However, in late August, Minister Rob Davies announced on behalf of cabinet that the country would be building a third new massive coal-fired power station.

This Friday, we will be going to the Department of Trade and Industry in Pretoria to ask the Minister to say no to further coal-fired power stations in South Africa, and to continue supporting clean, renewable energy instead.

And we need your voice to tell them 'No Coal 3 in South Africa!'
