In this document, Greenpeace, alongside BirdLife, ClientEarth, Oceana, Seas At Risk and WWF, sets priorities for the Juncker Commission on marine protection and sustainable fisheries management.
The priorities cover the following five topics:
1. Ensure Good Environmental Status by 2020;
2. Implement an ecologically coherent network of well-managed Marine Protected Areas by 2020;
3. Secure the recovery of fish stocks and a shift towards low-impact fishing;
4. Develop a sustainable blue economy based on the ecosystem-based approach & integrated governance;
5. Promote sustainable international fisheries and maritime governance.
