Subject: GM maize varieties

Dear Commissioner,
We, the undersigned national organisations, key
socio-economic partners of Greek society, who represent millions of farmers,
professionals, craftsmen, merchants, lawyers, doctors, civil servants and workers, urge you :
- Not to approve the new bt 11 and
1507 new varieties of GM maize,
- To
orientate EFSA to operate in the interests of European citizens.
As explained in the letter attached, the Europe we envisage and work for, can not be built, when
citizens’ views are not respected, environment is destroyed, market
competitiveness of agriculture and the food industry is undermined.
