Safeguarding the livelihood of fishing communities while conserving marine bio-diversity is a challenging task. To find an amicable solution Greenpeace went to Orissa to find and speak to local fishing communities. The results of this survey were published in a report, which asked the government to provide viable and sustainable alternate livelihood options to the fishing community. This will help further conservation efforts and safeguard the livelihood of fishing communities.
