Bloggers: to your keyboards!

Sven Teske, lead author of the Energy [R]evolution report, gave a briefing to bloggers last Friday, outlining not only why we need to shift our energy supply towards renewable energy, but how. The most interesting bit in this briefing for me was the fact that the shift to renewable energy isn't a nice dream: it's reality. It's happening.

Here's something about our climate campaign you might not know: the superstar of it is a 300 pages report. It's one of the most important things we have ever done. We've been producing it since 2005 (it's currently in its third version). And the people who should read it - decision makers - are sticking fingers in their ears and looking the other way.

It's a shame, really, because this attitude allows them to present a renewable energy futur as some kind of irrealistic future only green uotpians can think of - when in reality, for the past five years, we've been working on numbers to show that it is possible, with the right political will.

So, bloggers, this is where you come in. As Sven said in the above video, the Energy [R]evolution is one of the most amazing stories going unreported by mainstream media. It's GREAT NEWS. And we need people to talk about it.

So blog about it. You can use the video above, and the variety of materials available et greenpeace.org/energyrevolution. If you don't have the time, you can use our ready-made tweets.
