The logs wait on Paia Port's waterways, prevented from being loaded onto the Harbour Gemini ship, which was occupied by Greenpeace activists, in the rainforests of the Gulf Province. In 1995, the Papua New Guinea government granted 1.7 million hectares as a logging ‘extension’ to Turama Forest Industries.
