Divers producing underwater video. The mosaic of different seaweeds and patches of mussels create an ideal environment for small animals to hide in. This habitat is crucial in supporting larger animals such as fish, which feed and spawn here. If we loose the habitat and its complexity for example, because of destructive fishing practises the overall productivity of the area will decrease. Large-scale marine reserves is an essential tool to protect whole marine ecosystems.
