Organic Farmer in Spain

Eduardo Campayo García, organic farmer born in 1961 in Albacete, Spain. Eduardo and his family switched to organic farming 12 years ago. He produces maize, alfalfa, peas, potatoes, wheat and wine. “I believe in organic farming because conventional farming does not meet my needs. For example, with alfalfa I had to treat my crop up to six times with chemical products, while with organic farming I have zero treatments. What has changed since I went into organic farming? Workload on the field and great personal satisfaction! I want my future to be one of hope, not one of fear and worry. We have a huge challenge ahead of us - to produce healthy food, within a sustainable environment and to deal with the market’s demands.”
