Artisanal fishermen in the village of Tamarin repair their nets on the beach. These fishermen carry out their activities in the lagoon and on the outer reef slope. When asked whether they wish to fish tuna, they complain about declining off-shore catches of tuna and blame the increase in foreign vessels, especially purse seine boats, fishing for tuna in Mauritian waters.
