Toxics Analysis on Apple Iphone

12th July 2007. The new Apple iPhone is dismantled and tested in an independent laboratory for hazardous and toxic components. Scientists confirm the presence of brominated compounds in half the samples and a mixture of toxic phthalate was found to make up 1.5 per cent of the plastic (PVC) coating of the headphone cables.
