Solar Micro-Grid Launch in Dharnai Village in India

20th July 2014. Greenpeace India Executive Director Samit Aich switches on the solar-powered micro-grid at its launch ceremony in Dharnai village. A 'first of its kind' in India. The 100 KW solar micro grid, developed by Greenpeace India and partners BASIX and CEED, supplies around-the-clock electricity to more than 2,400 residents, 450 homes, and 50 commercial operations, including two schools and a health care facility.
