'Mountains and Rooftops' Day of Action

On the 4th September, Greenpeace activists and volunteers participated in a 'day of action' to 'Save The Arctic', ascending iconic mountain peaks and buildings all over the world, to demand that governments respond to the global outcry and make the creation of a protected Arctic Sanctuary a top priority.

Greenpeace volunteer and snowboarder Kurt Leen airs his to message to Save the Arctic on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu (2797 m) which is New Zealand's largest active volcano. He was part of small team to hike to the summit which overlooks the crater lake. The last major eruption was 1996.
