Untreated domestic waste and industrial wastewater containing hazardous chemicals discharged by factories into the Citarum River have contaminated the water supply and have impacted the rice paddies belonging to local farmers. The farmers say that, as a result of contaminated water, their rice is a much lower quality and many have to sell them for half the normal price. Ciwalengke Village.
