You may not be aware - but the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il, is planning to test a nuclear weapon during the coming days, to coincide with the 9th anniversary of his leadership of the country. Scary, eh? The photograph above shows Greenpeace activists outside the North Korea embassy this morning, sending a message to Kim Jong-il.

You'd think that he'd celebrate his 'birthday' by taking a step towards a more peaceful world - but... no. There's worries that these nuclear tests will provide impetus for an Asian arms race - the logic being "after all, if North Korea can test weapons, why can't we?" Not a pleasant prospect.

Here's what you can do: Send a message to the Governments of the Six Party Talks: Republic of Korea (ROK), Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK), Japan, Peoples Republic of China, Russian Federation and the United States of America, calling them to establish a Northeast Asia Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone.Take action! »
