The US Government is currently preparing to construct a new plutonium pit production facility capable of producing up to 900 new pits per year. This briefing argues that this action clearly displays an unwillingness on the part of the US to fulfill its NPT article VI commitment to disarmament and in fact demonstrates a commitment to new nuclear weapons.
