Shark finning is one of the key drivers that results in nearly 100 million sharks being killed every year. The crew of the controversial Taiwanese longliner Ho Tsai Fa 18 see a fast profit in this oceanic white tip shark and will slice off it fins, throwing it back into the water still alive, to bleed to death or drown. Marine reserves will also protect top predators such as sharks which are vital to create a healthy marine eco-system.
