IPS, which carried out the tests for Greenpeace on Cottonsoft products, is a heavyweight independent testing lab used by major companies in the international paper industry like Kimberly-Clark, SCA, International Paper and Procter & Gamble. The lab’s clients also include the U.S. Department of Defense, Customs, and the FBI.

The species percentages are for the respective components only, not for the entire sample. The error ranges are listed for the pulp types in the Tappi T 401 method and those for the species percentages are generally double this range.
