CRM, Automation and Intelligence Unit Manager

Job - 1 april, 2019
How would you like to take your career to the next level and help protect the Earth? Greenpeace Nordic is seeking an experienced CRM, Intelligence and Automation Unit Manager, the candidate can be based in any of the Nordic capitals (Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen) .

Greenpeace is committed to making the world a better place. Our goal is to ensure the ability of Earth to nurture life in all its diversity. Independence runs at the heart of part of Greenpeace's values, so we do not accept money from governments, corporations or political parties.

The CRM, Automation and Intelligence Unit is responsible for the management and use of the data systems which store supporter information so that Greenpeace Nordic can build rewarding, engaging and financially successful relationships with our supporters.

The Unit provides all the systems and processes that allow for timely reporting, analysis, data management, and journey management which enables our fundraising and programme communication work to function, and provides the tools and insights to develop and improve our supporter and donor engagement. Without accurate, intelligent and insightful data analysis and support Greenpeace Nordic cannot operate effectively.

The Unit Manager leads a team of four permanent employees working together to manage the needs of its customers (e.g. Fundraising and Programme) and build effective relationships with its internal (e.g. Nordic IT Operations Unit) and external suppliers (e.g. Salesforce), whilst also managing the roadmap and fitness-for-purpose of the centre’s technical products and processes.

We are at a critical moment, when the fantastic growth potential we have can only be realized with the help of sophisticated marketing systems, insightful and strategic business intelligence and precise, high quality marketing and management.

In the coming period (2019-2020) the CRM, Automation and Intelligence Unit will:

  • Embed the use of Salesforce Marketing Cloud for producing and automating all supporter journeys
  • Migrate from the legacy CRM to a non-profit version of Sales CRM
  • Replace the analysis and reporting framework (solution as yet undecided) used by Greenpeace Nordic.
  • Automate manual processes to make better use of staff resources and reduce latency

This senior specialist position is managed by the Chief Technology Officer but has full accountability to plan, manage and deliver the roadmap that meets the needs of its customers. The systems managed by this Unit have several key internal and external technical partners and suppliers, so this role will need to work closely with those suppliers to ensure the centre receives what it needs. The role holder must be inquisitive about all business areas of fundraising and communication journeys, understand the strategic direction of the regional and country offices and proactively seek solutions that will inform and push these strategies forward. The post holder must enjoy fostering relationships, evaluating complex technical options and building a high performing team.

About you:
You have at least 10 years experience in IT, CRM marketing and analysis, or related fields with a wide knowledge of statistical and analytical techniques and demonstrable knowledge of the business intelligence sector, tools and techniques. You have direct experience of project management and tailoring project management approaches to an organisation and you have experience in working collaboratively with suppliers and vendors to influence and improve products. You enjoy working with the end-users of marketing systems and intelligence to understand their needs and generate a roadmap for their technical products that meets those needs. Ideally, you also have experience of analysis in a fundraising and social media context – but this is not essential.

You enjoy mentoring and developing your team who support, run, develop the systems they are the authority for. You are mature, strategic and consultative and can cope with uncertainty and make defensive plans/arrangements. You are proactive reaching out to customers ahead of time, getting involved in strategy and you don’t wait to be told what to do by customers. You can balance customers fairly  and don’t just respond to the noisiest ones.

What we offer:

  • Secure, full-time, ongoing contract
  • Unique chance to contribute to solving the world’s environmental problems
  • Exciting opportunities for personal growth and professional development
  • Dynamic and international workplace
  • Unique opportunity to work with and belong to a global community
  • Ongoing collective agreement
