Siem Reap, Cambodia, 14 July 2005 – Dr Sat Samy, Cambodia’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy, is being served coffee brewed using solar energy. Members of Greenpeace Solar Generation youth group today handed a solar PV system to the government of Cambodia which hopes to provide clean renewable energy for up to 70 percent of its population by 2030. Solar Generation members from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Philippines participated in the week-long event to deliver their demand to the ASEAN for clean energy to thwart climate change.
