Save our Seas

Divers from Greenpeace together with scientists from Silliman University, a community members from Apo Island, Marine Protected Area Management Board, dive wardens of Apo Island unfurled banners with a message to "Save our Seas" in Apo Island, Dauin Negros Oriental. The Marine Protected Area (MPA) of Apo Island was destroyed caused by Typhoon Pablo in December 2012. An increase in the severity of extreme weather events is one of the predicted effects of climate change. The documentation of the reef check in Apo Island is part of the activities around the visit of the Greenpeace ship Esperanza which arrived in the Philippines.
